Larry leaves to celebrate his life with fond memories: his loving children, Steven D. ![]() We are a strong family of believers in the goodness of God's grace and mercy. Larry was resilient and he fought the good fight. We are all saddened by his sudden transition from life. Larry will truly be missed by his family and everyone who loved him. His family could always expect to receive a thoughtful card or gift early, and never late. His favorite pastime was family birthday celebrations. Most of all, Larry loved spending time with his family. His favorite basketball teams were the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls. He was an avid Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Larry loved sports and enjoyed watching basketball and football. He was quiet and reflective in his thoughts and actions. Larry was a very thoughtful caring loving dad, brother and friend. To this union one daughter was born, Kermita Elena Waterson. Larry later was united in marriage to Eleanor Ann Faulkner. Upon dedicating his life to Christ through baptism, Larry accepted the teachings and beliefs of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church in the mid 70s, and at that time became a faithful member of The University Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church. Larry was united in marriage to the late Vicki Jean Harris and to this union one son was born, Steven Dewayne Waterson. Larry was very proud of his craft and his career as a welder. Larry was employed by the Union Carbide, Y-12 Plant, for over 30 years, and was recognized for his excellent tradesman ship as a skilled, certified welder. Larry was a 1966 graduate of Rule High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and running track. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Vicki Jean Harris, mother, Willie Bell Waterson, grandmother, Essie Belle Phillips, sister, Georgianna Waterson Woodard, two nephews, Darrell Edward Waterson and Calvin George Woodard, Jr. Larry departed this life on March 19, 2022, at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Larry Waterson was born April 14, 1948, in Knoxville Tennessee to the late Willie Bell Waterson.
